It is fastened to a 14k gold V-shaped bale and hangs from a delicate 14k gold rope chain with a spring ring clasp. The pearl falls just below the throat, and though it is delicate and small, it truly shines in this simple and elegant setting. Freshwater cultured pearls are remarkably similar in appearance to the more expensive Akoya cultured pearls, but because they are easier to cultivate and tend to be smaller and more irregular in shape, they are more affordable. The combination of freshwater cultured pearl and 14k gold make this piece an excellent value.

I am not one to order jewelry online, and had second thoughts after I ordered this necklace, however upon receipt, I was more than happy with the quality. My only criticism would be that I felt the chain was a little light, however I find this in much jewelry these days. Overall a good product for a good price with the usual prompt Amazon service.
